Easter Weekend
Open every day of the long weekend, we’re delivering four days of fun and frolic, with barbecues, tractor tours, live music and treats galore. Delight in farm demos, marvel at a symphony of spring bulbs, and settle in for a special Sunday lunch.
Newtlings Easter Holidays
For a helping hand over the holidays, our Newtlings Shorts and Forest School are set to return, alongside a freshly devised Spring Trail that celebrates the gardens and the bees that pollinate them, plus Tree Climbing and Movement & Storytelling sessions.
Explore our new Newtlings activities below, or follow the link to discover the full Easter programme.
Newtlings Short: Junior Joiners – The Bird Box Build
Step into the workshop as a Junior Joiner and discover what it takes to build a home for wildlife. Guided by nature expert and bird box maker David, Newtlings will explore the fascinating world of British garden birds and assemble a bird box using beginner woodworking skills.
Please note that due to the dexterity involved, this workshop is only suitable for ages four and above.
Movement & Storytelling: Easter Specials
The Easter edition of our Newtlings Movement & Storytelling sessions takes place over two Thursdays, telling the tale of ‘The Golden Hive’. Held in our beautiful Story of Gardening space, these softly guided sessions weave together gentle yoga-inspired movement, music, breathwork and storytelling, inviting families to stretch, giggle, explore and unwind together.
Families are free to join one session, or return for both.
Turn Back Time
Bringing age-old traditions to life, Villa Ventorum will be spinning, weaving and fletching its way through Easter, hosting ‘have a go’ archery, woodworking workshops and arrow making displays. Sample historically-inspired dishes, or hop on a carriage to approach the villa in true Roman style. No booking required.
Newtlings Short: Hedgehog Watch Club
Join Dr Tom, The Newt’s in-house ecologist, and head out on a real hedgehog watch mission. Blending indoor learning with time at the hedgehogs’ enclosure, equipped with booklets and observation tools, children will help Dr Tom carry out seasonal checks while learning about the lives of these lovely creatures.
Please note, as with many wildlife experiences, hedgehog sightings can’t be guaranteed.
