Entry to the gardens and our drop in workshops is included in your membership. Children (0-16 years) go free if they are accompanied by an adult member. Some events will require pre-booking and others have an additional cost.

To book Newtlings' activities, you will need a member to purchase an adult guest pass on your behalf, giving you access to the gardens. Children (0-16 years) gain free entry when accompanied by an adult member, or an adult with a Guest Pass.

Festive Workshops
Our programme takes a delightfully festive turn throughout November and December. Members and visitors alike can book onto Christmas Creatures in Willow workshops, make hand-printed Christmas cards, and create seasonal dried flower wreaths to adorn the home.
Craft an everlasting Christmas tree from estate grown and foraged foliage and blooms, discover the art of needle-felting baubles, or learn how to host like a pro on a Christmas tablescaping masterclass.

Newtlings Magic
This festive season at The Newt, little ones can step into a world of wonder with our Enchanted Christmas Trail inspired by a kindly badger who keeps watch over the woodland creatures and enjoy magical workshops inspired by Saint Nicholas and the folklore of the Somerset woods. From crafting charms and wooden toys to uncovering hidden treats among frosted gardens, every adventure is designed to spark imagination, warmth, and festive joy for families to share.
Festive Afternoon Tea
Climb aboard The Maid of Somerset located at The Creamery (just a 10 min pootle from The Newt estate) and settle into one of two saloons transporting you to the golden age of railway travel and indulge in a first class afternoon tea.
Running from 1 – 31 December, graze on the likes of roast turkey & cranberry sandwiches and sweet treats such as our own twist on panforte, mince pies and choux buns with hazelnut praline. All capped off with essential glass of festive fizz.
Weekend Pop-Ups
That festive feeling is sweeping across the estate across all weekends in December in the lead up to Christmas. Visitors can enjoy a festive seasonal treats, from nostalgic roasted nuts to mulled cyder, wine and decadent hot chocolate to keep hands toasty for garden strolls and stocking up on gifts and delicious fare. Listen to live music and heartwarming carols, continuing into Christmas week, right up until Christmas Eve.
Christmas Party Season
Gather friends, family and colleagues for a convivial Christmas lunch or dinner this festive season.
Choose between a Garden To Table Lunch or Evening Festive Feast at the Garden Café, or a Christmas lunch or dinner at The Creamery.
Eat, Drink & Be Merry
Chefs are working with farmers and gardeners to add final 'stage-ready' flourishes across our estate menus. The season to feast like a king and celebrate with loved ones, colleagues and friends, eateries will be brimming with festive flavours, with a Newt spin, to ensure plenty of seasonal cheer. Choose your perfect backdrop, and book in.
