Learn how birds choose safe spaces to nest, shelter and raise their young, then create a bird box designed especially for them, discovering what makes a good bird box and where it should sit to offer the safest welcome.

With safety goggles on and grown-ups close by, each child will practise beginner joinery skills such as sanding, gentle hammering and careful screwdriving, building confidence with tools while solving a real-world challenge for nature.

We’ll finish by looking at where bird boxes belong on the estate, and how these small structures become part of a much bigger landscape, as places to return to and spot in seasons to come.

Sessions last an hour and a quarter and will run at the following times:
10am-11.15am, 11.45am-1pm, 2pm-3.15pm & 3.45pm-5pm.

Only suitable for ages 4 and above. Children must be accompanied by an adult (who attends free of charge).
