Summer Holidays
This summer our Newtlings Programme is full to the brim with art, craft and storytelling, alongside regular favourites like Tree Climbing and Forest School.
The Summer Trail weaves Shakespearean-inspired magic through the woodlands. Our new Art School explores unusual techniques and hands-on projects, while Newtlings Shorts like Bug Detectives and Bug Architects are a brilliant way to connect with nature on the estate.
We want every Newtling to feel safe, happy and free to explore. We ask that families take a moment to familiarise themselves with our Newtlings Culture Code ahead of any session.
Art School
New for summer 2026, our three-part summer art club is designed for curious and creative children, and introduces a range of artistic techniques through hands-on, artist-led workshops.
Each session begins with drawing games and creative warm-ups that build confidence, observation skills and imagination, before introducing a new artistic process to explore, from hand-making an artist wallet to fish printing.
Guided by professional artists from Let's Make Art – artists in-residence at Arnolfini – children will develop confidence, creativity and practical artistic skills in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Movement & Storytelling
A monthly movement-filled journey for Newtlings and their grown-ups alike.
Held in our beautiful Story of Gardening space, these guided sessions weave together gentle yoga-inspired movement, music, breathwork and storytelling, inviting families to stretch, giggle, explore and unwind together.
Expect calm moments and playful ones, all moving at your own pace. You’re free to dip in and out as you need, and enjoy a chance to socialise with other families after the session.
Seasonal Trails
Updated throughout the year, our seasonal trails blend learning, storytelling and exploration, plotting a new route across the estate as the year progresses.
Tapping into the promise of spring, the energy of summer, or the quiet magic of winter, each trail traces its way through our gardens and green spaces, with moments of curiosity and special surprises woven in.
Shorts, Crafts and Outdoor Activities
All Newtlings activities are rooted in the estate’s craft and expertise. From horticulture and ecology to engineering and making, these sessions offer focused moments of fun and learning that are practical, engaging and distinctly ‘Newt’. Some workshops are longer, but we also run 'Shorts' which keep things bitesized.
Previous activities have included Junior Bird Box Making, Beekeepers – Inside the Hive and Forest to Fire Wild Cooking. Tree Climbing is a returning favourite, alongside seasonal specials like Christmas and Easter craftmaking.
Holiday Forest School
Whether you're looking for a morning activity or a full day of fun, our Forest School runs in holidays throughout the year and encourages hands on learning and practical skills led by nature.
