The Farmyard

Experience creative dishes worth sharing at the Farmyard Kitchen. Located in an old Threshing Barn, the beating heart of a repurposed dairy farm. Serving hearty, cheering fare using ingredients grown, foraged and reared on the estate. Seasonal elements, wood-fired then dished-up in the open kitchen in front of your table.

Garden Café

Our garden eateries serves fresh, seasonal fare, led by what is growing in our gardens. The Garden Café offers a perfect vantage point over the kitchen gardens and orchards below, from which a vegetable-led menu is sourced - serving breakfast, lunch and estate boards seven days a week.

The Creamery

A trackside restaurant and working creamery celebrating the golden age of the Great British railway. Under a 10-minute drive from The Newt, The Creamery is located at Castle Cary railway station, a principal gateway to Somerset. Visitors can expect hearty dishes and a range of traditional soft cheese and yoghurt using fresh milk from the estate’s herd of water buffalo. The menu offers hearty British classics, served simply and generously. Ingredients come fresh from the market gardens and Butchery at The Newt. Dishes such as Lloyds' famous lamb merguez sausages, the smash burger and fish of the day, will be accompanied by our finest cyders. For a lighter dish, the signature mozzarella is served simply with lemon zest and Babylonstoren olive oil.

Cyder Bar

The perfect pitstop for a sip of cyder, tea or coffee. Plus freshly baked treats and light meals prepared by the Bakery Kitchen to fuel a stroll around the grounds. Try pastries, apple & cinnamon buns, soup, salads or comforting braises showcasing our estate vegetables and meats. For hungry little ones, order a sausage roll and apple juice to enjoy somewhere adventurous.
