Newtlings: Summer Art School (Week 3)
17, 17, 17 August / 10:00am
Join Bristol-based artists Let’s Make Art for a session of creativity, imagination and expression. Sessions run at 10am, 12.30pm & 3.30pm.
£ 25 per person.
Designed for curious and creative children, our summer art club introduces a range of artistic techniques through hands-on, artist-led workshops. Each session begins with drawing games and creative warm-ups that build confidence, observation skills and imagination, before introducing a new artistic process to explore.
Week 3 - Nature's Drawing Tools & Collaborative Mark Making
Following a short walk through the grounds to gather natural materials, children will create their own drawing tools and experiment with large-scale collaborative mark making. They will also make their own artist's pen inspired by traditional calligraphy tools and use inks created from produce grown at The Newt to explore expressive drawing, lettering and illustration techniques.
Children aged 7+ are encouraged to attend independently, whilst children aged 5 & 6 are warmly welcome with an accompanying adult.
