Composting and Building Healthy Soil (October)
12 October / 2:00pm
Healthy soil is the key to a happy garden, so this workshop blends a tour with an educational session exploring compost ecosystems.
Things start off in the College Room, where you’ll learn about the science behind healthy soils, and the biological life found under our feet (and in our compost bins). Afterwards, take a 30-minute tour through the gardens, seeing real-life examples of healthy soil management. The final part of the day takes place over at The Newt’s compost pad, with a deep dive into the inner workings of our composting process, and more takeaway tips for your garden.
As a little extra from us, you’ll go home with a bag of our own screened compost.
