Strolls across the estate are breathtaking at this time of the year
A magical, liminal time between autumn and winter, this is the month when woodland wanders are at their most enchanting. Halls are being decked, the scent of woodsmoke fills the air and festive flavours from brussels sprouts to bread & butter panettone and mince pies with clotted cream pop up on estate menus.
Our elves have been working overtime to ensure the stage is set for Christmas at The Newt, and you’re warmly invited to be part of this year’s wonder-filled production. Run, don’t walk to take your front row seat: the festive adventures are about to begin…
What’s on in NovemberÂ
We’re leaning into shorter days and longer nights, with the gardens open from 9am-4.30pm, according to our winter opening hours. The packed programme takes a sharp turn towards feel-good festive pursuits this month: now’s the time to book in for creative Christmas workshops and warming feasts.

Handprinted Christmas Cards, 10am – 3pm / £150
Create your own Christmas cards with Liz Clayton of Slow Sunday over a glass of bubbly. The perfect time to pause during this busy time of year and print cards with your own fair hands to send festive wishes to loved ones. Ending with lunch at the Garden Café.
