We’re running an array of free tours across the weekend, with our Kitchen Gardeners, with Kew’s Kitchen Gardener, Helena Dove and Productive Garden Manager at The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Katie Kingett. Join our resident entomologist to learn about beneficial garden insects, or let your Newtlings loose for some sensory fun.

Find out how we use natural ways to feed the soil and encourage wildlife to maintain a healthy, productive and sustainable garden. How to use organic methods for pests and diseases.​
12:00 – 12:30 Edible Flowers with Newt Kitchen Gardener
All the flowers in the Kitchen Garden are edible, and there are some that may surprise such as begonias and day lilies - come for a tasting tour and find out how we grow them.
15:00-15:30 Beneficial Garden Insects with Newt Entomologist
Listen to our resident entomologist discuss the beneficial insects you should be encouraging into your gardens and how best to support struggling invertebrate species. 
15:30 – 16:00 Herbs and perennial vegetables with Newt Kitchen Gardener
Meet the 'bones' of our garden - the herbs and vegetables that come back every year. Tips on growing and harvesting asparagus, rhubarb, globe artichoke, sorrel, oca - easy when you know how.
10:00 & 11.45 Newtlings: Taste of the Garden
Join our Education Leader Martha and expert Kitchen Garden team for a Newtlings adventure that brings the garden to life. In this Harvest special, children will explore the Kitchen Garden through their senses, sampling and judging our home-grown vegetables and edible plants, brushing past fragrant herbs, feeling textures, and tuning in to the buzz of garden life. No ‘do not touch’ rules here - it’s hands-on, noses-in, full-sensory fun! Children aged 6+ can attend without adults but all are welcome!
