Winter Trees: Bark, Buds and Branches
12 January / 9:30am
Discover how to identify trees in winter through their bark, buds and bare branches, uncovering the distinctive features often hidden by their summer foliage.
£ 40 per person.
An engaging, hands-on session designed to help you identify trees during the winter months by observing bark, buds, branch structure and habit. It’s a lovely excuse to get outside, into nature and learn all about the symbiotic relationship between the trees and wildlife with Lee from the Woodland Team.
The session starts with a classroom-based talk to introduce the key concepts of botanical identification, before heading out into the gardens and woodland to put your newly gained knowledge to the test in the wild. A brilliant way to bring light and renewed vigour to the depths of winter, accompanied by a lovely booklet to bring home.
