Sessions run hourly throughout the day from 10-4pm, at the following times: 10:00-11:00, 11:30-12:30, 13:30-14:30, 15:00-16:00

Guided by master weaver Stefan Jennings, Newtlings will learn the craft of willow weaving as they create their own little apple, rooted in Somerset tradition.

Inspired by our orchard Estate, the season of early pruning, and the quiet preparations for Wassail, each family will weave an apple to take home as a tactile keepsake of the turning year.

Each group will also create a shared apple to place under our Wassail tree as a symbolic offering of thanks and hope, and a soft wake-up call to the land as it turns towards spring.

Stefan is the maker behind the majestic Fire Night Fisher King and the other magical works that dot the estate. Join him and Martha as they invite you and your Newtlings into a new current of creativity, celebrating the New Year through this traditional Somerset craft.

This workshop will run in 1-hour slots throughout the day, starting from 10am. The last session starts at 3pm. As the craft requires a little patience and dexterity, we ask that adults join their child(ren) to enjoy the making together.

A valid Membership (or Guest Day Pass, purchased via a Member) is required to book this workshop. Adults are free of charge.
