"Absolutely, Jeeves. The craving grew upon him. The newts got him. Arrived at man’s estate, he retired to the depths of the country and gave his life up to these dumb chums." - 'Right-Ho Jeeves', P.G. Wodehouse

Who amongst us can honestly say that they are not, even in some small part, intrigued (and quite possibly fascinated) by the enigmatic, curious, amphibian that gives its name to our enterprise? And what of the other, often hidden but nonetheless present, frogs, toads and reptiles of The Newt?

John Dickson, Chair of the Reptile & Amphibian Group Somerset, invites us to get a little closer to these weird and wonderful wildlife residents. He will share insights into their lifecycle, habits, the role they play in the wider ecosystem, and offer tips on what you can do to enhance their habitats.
