An original and adventurous storyteller, Lally often brings together journalism, photography and film in personal projects that have been exhibited internationally. She produced, filmed and directed Afghan Army Girls for Channel 4, and more recently, she created the BBC documentary The Gardeners of Kabul, which she also narrated. Her work has been exhibited at The V&A, The Smithsonian Galleries, Burning Man, Tate Margate and The Garden Museum.

A thoughtful and engaging speaker, Lally has given talks at the Edinburgh Book Festival, MIT, The Frontline Club, NATO Headquarters (SHAPE), the Lahore Literary Festival, Dubai Literary Festival, the French Embassy in Kabul, The Garden Museum, and she has spoken often on podcasts and radio talk shows.
