Newtlings Short: Beekeepers – Inside the Hive
27, 27 May / 10:00am
Step into the hive, suit up and experience life as a Newtlings Beekeeper. Sessions at 10am & 11.30am.
£ 20 per person.
A rich, sensory and memorable introduction to beekeeping, created for those with a deeper curiosity about the world of bees.
Designed for budding bee enthusiasts, this small-group session offers a hands-on introduction to the world of beekeeping, set within the immersive Beezantium.
Led by our Bee Team, children will explore the life of a hive, from the roles within a colony to the remarkable lifecycle of a honeybee. Through guided learning and close-up observation, they’ll discover how a hive is structured, how frames are used and how honey is carefully harvested.
Dressed as beekeepers, Newtlings will step into the role themselves, learning about our kinder beekeeping ethos and the different approaches used to care for bees responsibly and respectfully. A special honey tasting brings the experience to life, including the chance to try our own Newt honey!
As part of their journey, each group will also become part of the estate’s story, with their own named frame added to one of our hives, along with some thoughtful take-home keepsakes to carry the experience home.
Please note: we cannot offer honey tasting to children under 18 months of age. Each session lasts an hour.
