Expert voices, glorious gardens
Secateurs at the ready, we’re calling all plant growers, flower-friends, tree enthusiasts and horticultural hedonists to join us for our inaugural garden show. Join us for a nine-day celebration set amongst the gardens in all their spring finery.
Weekdays will see us deep dive into this year's theme 'The Story of Gardening' through a packed programme of workshops, talks and interactive tours.
Over the weekends we'll be encouraging revelry and fun for the whole family - music, dancing, flower crown crafting and more - all to the backdrop of our gardens in their glorious May profusion!
Full programme available from 3 April
Conversations In The Garden
Voices from the world of gardening and beyond – including Alan Titchmarsh CBE, Sandor Katz, Robin Lane Fox, Charles Dowding, Tony Kirkham MBE, Thomasina Miers and many more, will be joining The Newt's stellar team sharing knowledge, insights and tips from all corners of the horticultural compass.
Tours, Demos & Workshops
Watch our tree surgeons in action in the woodlands or try your hand at botanical watercolours. Join a tour of the kitchen gardens, explore behind the scenes in the greenhouses and sign up for demonstrations on everything from composting to propagation. From blossom walks to the art of espalier, every day holds something different.
Newtlings Fun
Newtlings can make their first foray into the world of gardening with special family-friendly sessions throughout the show. We’ll have a new Spring Trail weaving across the estate, educational activities in the Beezantium, flower crown making, a ‘Design a Planter’ workshop, May Pole moments and much more.
Children under 18 go free, with valid ticket holders or Newt Members.
Bio Blitz Sunday
On the final day of the show we’ll be conducting an estate-wide Bio-Blitz. Focusing on the diversity of our flora and fauna, we’ll share ideas on creating eco-friendly gardens, show camera-trap screenings of wildlife spotted across the estate, and invite everyone to take part in wildlife counts, from butterfly spotting to insect ID-sweeps in the meadows.
