Tresco Abbey Garden
A subtropical gem just 28 miles off the Cornish coast, Tresco Abbey Garden is home to some 20,000 plants from over 80 countries. The glorious 19th-century garden was created around the ruins of a Benedictine Abbey and is well loved for its exotic array of blooms, from King Protea to great blue spires of Echium and shocking-pink drifts of Pelargonium. Even in the depths of winter, there are some 300 species to take in. The treasures to be found here are not limited to the floral kind, as you can spot golden pheasants ambling and browse a collection of shipwrecked figureheads at the Valhalla Museum.
Newt Members enjoy free entry to the gardens year-round, excluding any special events that are subject to an additional charge. No advance booking necessary, proof of a valid Newt membership will be required on entry.
