The Botanical Rooms

Every plate of food features something from the Estate and its gardens, whether grown, foraged, distilled or baked in our kitchens and Bakery. Anything that we don’t produce ourselves, we source from the best local suppliers.

The Botanical Rooms

Guests can enjoy fun dining inspired by their surroundings. Sharing small plates as the Georgians did, or feasting on whole meats and vegetables cooked on a unique grill, fired with wood from the Estate.

The hotel bar drinks menu is guided by seasonal produce and our Georgian setting, with punches, cocktails and aperitifs popular in the 18th century. It also has an inventive food offering of small dishes wrapped in curious ways: in vine leaves, kohlrabi, Scotched or en croute. Expect colourful gifts that are easy to eat and share.

In the original vaulted cellar of the house, communal dining, wine tasting, special events and Georgian feasts for 14–16 people are possible. Menus are inspired by Georgian documents found in the house.

"My menus are really dictated by our gardeners. What they plant and harvest, we use in exciting and unconventional ways. Each plate has its own identity, just like the ingredients themselves."
