Paradise Garden: Sensory Drawing Experience

Immerse yourself in the joy of sensory drawing and spend a creative day exploring the beautiful cultivated gardens and wild landscapes of The Newt estate. Guided by artist and tutor Fhiona McKie, you'll connect with the natural world through drawing and painting, responding to the colours, textures and forms that surround you.

Summer offers the perfect opportunity to work outdoors, using colour, line and texture to engage all the senses and inspire creativity. Throughout the day, you'll experiment with a variety of drawing and painting techniques, exploring mark-making and colour through a range of art materials.

The experience begins with creating your own drawing tools using natural materials gathered from the plant world. Fhiona will then introduce a range of creative approaches and techniques before leading you to inspiring locations across the estate for guided observational work.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have created a unique fold-out sketchbook filled with your artwork and experimental drawings, as well as a collection of handmade drawing implements to take home.
