June Magic: Feels Like Summer
May 29th, 2024“It was June, and the world smelled of roses. The sunshine was like powdered gold over the grassy hillside.” – Maud Hart Lovelace
June, the month of warm solstice, brings an abundance of growth, colour and possibility across the estate. Long days entice you to lose yourself in the Four Seasons Garden, awash with old fashioned roses in soft, romantic hues: winding around pergolas and spilling from the hedgerows. The Newts and water fauna are out and about, young cattle investigate the roundhouse and surrounding fields, and parent birds are flying further afield, eyeing up garden plants to keep their young well fed. New season potatoes, green garlic and abundant herbs are put to delicious use across the estate and rosé flows as day turns to dreamy dusk. Summer is soon to arrive in Somerset – make the most of its magic and start exploring.
Join us for dawn and dusk walks to see the floriferous sights, cook over fire on Gardener & Chef workshops and make the most of the long, languorous evenings with the return of our Thursday evening Garden Lates series.
