A Country Estate, Reimagined
Our working estate in Somerset has acres of splendid gardens, woodland, farmland and cyder orchards to explore. Stay a night or two, or become a member and see the landscape change throughout the year.
Lean in to Spa Time
Do your body good at this time of year by letting nature provide its nurture, and leaning in to the rejuvenating benefits of elemental time spent in our spa. Water, heat, steam, earth, air. All hotel stays include use of the spa thermal facilities, two pools and vitality pools. Our therapists can offer healing with herbal infused treatments, or indulge in some self-care in the hammam and mud rasul.
Roman Villa Experience
Our newest educational experience; the expansive reimagining of a Romano-British villa, inspired by the unearthing of a settlement on the estate dating back to 351AD, is now open alongside an interactive visitor centre, which sits carefully over the exposed foundations of the original villa. Time travel is hungry work, so we have prepared some authentic Roman fare to enjoy at the end of your grand tour.
Members and guests must pre-book the Roman Villa Experience. Winter opening hours 9.30am to 3.30pm (last entry at 2pm).
A Slice of the Good Life
Our passionate team of farmers, gardeners, butchers, bakers, cheesemakers, chefs and cyder makers work in harmony with land and livestock to produce delicious food for the table. Shop online and enjoy free delivery throughout the UK.
Dine at The Botanical Rooms
Enjoy elegant and seasonal dining, inspired by and gathered from your surroundings. Chef Ben Champkin invites you to feast on estate vegetables, the choicest cuts from the salt room and dayboat fish from the Dorset coast. Savour the tasting menu, paired with Fine Cyder or something special from the house cellar.
A Feast for The Senses
Discover a feast for all the senses, from garden eateries to daily tours and seasonal workshops, all inspired by the land beneath our feet and the history and tradition of Somerset. We recommend planning ahead to make the most of every visit. Explore formal and productive gardens, get a buzz from the Beezantium or discover a subterranean world in The Story of Gardening. Finally, no day would be complete without stopping at the cellar or the Farm Shop to sample a drop or two of Cyder.
