Things To Do for Hotel Guests

While some of our usual activities may not be possible at the moment due to social distancing restrictions, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the simple pleasures of country living. Walk through the gardens, play croquet on the lawn or enjoy a game of badminton in Old Knobbly. Enjoy a stroll up the Mound and take in views towards Camelot. Reflect on your life while looking into the log fire and sipping afternoon tea in the Library. Or make merry drinks on the terrace, then slip into a comfy bed with a hot water bottle, completely relaxed.

Cyder Tour & Tasting

Step inside our state-of-the-art Cyder Press & Cellar, which uses advanced cold-press processes to retain the full flavour of the apple, followed by a guided tasting from a member of the cellar team.

Garden Tour

Join a tour with our gardeners every day, starting at 11am and 2pm and lasting 45 minutes. We are happy to provide hotel guests with wellies, hats and umbrellas.

Book in for a facial, massage or manicure with one of our expert therapists. Or choose an in-room treatment box for a spa experience in the comfort of your room, following a private consultation.

Walk or Run

The grounds have been carefully mapped to encourage being outdoors. Maps are available in your room or from Reception, and we encourage you to explore the many walking or running trails on the Estate.

High Tea

We encourage guests to indulge in this time-honoured tradition, included in your stay. Our hosts can suggest the perfect brew to sip in a quiet corner of the Library. Best accompanied by a freshly-baked scone, of course.

Whether you enjoy a few tranquil lengths, or merely floating philosophically, the indoor-outdoor pool offers weightless serenity. In the interest of safety, pre-booking is currently required.

Begin your day with yoga on the lawn or head to the gym for a total body workout with a view over the pick-your-own kitchen garden. There is a variety of equipment and free weights for targeted exercise.

The Estate is home not only to you, but an array of wildlife: owls, badgers, bats and the famous Great Crested newt. You might meet chickens and ducks roaming the gardens, or red, roe and fallow deer skulking in the Deer Park. We have grown plants that bees swoon over, so as better to spice up our honey.

Activities for Kids

We invite young guests to collect eggs and assist in picking fruit and vegetables from our garden. There may be budding bakers who'd like to try their hand at kneading and baking their own delicious loaf. They may be spoilt with seasonal activities like pumpkin carving, snowball fights, or a fantastic fireworks display.
