Things To Do for Hotel Guests
We suggest that our guests enjoy the simple pleasures of country living. Walk through the garden, play croquet on the lawn or enjoy a game of badminton in Old Knobbly. Dream while floating in the indoor-outdoor pool or enjoy a stroll up the Mound and take in views towards Camelot. Reflect on your life while looking into the log fire and sipping afternoon tea in the Library. Or make merry drinks on the terrace, then slip into a comfy bed with a hot water bottle, completely relaxed.
Our cyders are created with a state-of-the-art Cyder Press & Cellar, using advanced cold-press processes that retain the nutritional content of the fruit. We have 3,000 cyder apple trees of many varieties, including heirloom apples. All are hand-picked. Led by Cellar Master Greg Carnell and Cyder Maker Paul Ross.
Join tours of the gardens every day, departing from the Farmyard at 10.30am and lasting 45 minutes. We are happy to provide hotel guests with wellies, hats and umbrellas.
Two must-have treatments include an ancient hammam water ritual, or an hour with your partner in our rasul mud chamber. We also offer a wide range of body massages, manicures, pedicures and facials using a range of products inspired by an English garden.
Walk or Run
The property has been carefully mapped to encourage being outdoors. Maps are available in your room or from Reception, and we encourage you to explore the many walking or running trails on the Estate.
We encourage guests to soothe body and mind, through this time-honoured tradition. Our tea sommelier can suggest the perfect brew to sip in a quiet corner of the Library. Best accompanied by a freshly-baked scone, of course.
Whether you enjoy a few tranquil lengths, or merely floating philosophically, the indoor-outdoor pool offers weightless serenity.
The gym is for the exclusive use of adults. With a variety of equipment for a total body workout, and free weights for targeted exercise, this space ensures you keep fit whilst still enjoying a garden view.
The Estate is home not only to you, but to a wide array of wildlife: owls, badgers, bats and the famous great crested newt. You might meet chickens and ducks roaming the gardens. In the Deer Park, red and roe and fallow deer are skulking about. We have grown plants that bees swoon over, so as better to spice up our honey.
Activities for the kids
We invite our young guests to collect eggs and assist in picking fruit and vegetables from our garden. There may be budding bakers who would like to try their hand at kneading and baking their own delicious loaf. Visiting throughout the year, you may be spoilt with pumpkin carving, snowball fights, or a fantastic fireworks display.
