A Country Estate, Reimagined
Our working estate in Somerset has acres of splendid gardens, woodland, farmland and cyder orchards to explore. Stay a night or two—or become a member and see the landscape change throughout the year.
Christmas Showcase Reschedule
Due to the high winds on the 7 & 8 December, we had to make the difficult decision to reschedule our Christmas Showcase Weekend to 14 & 15 December. Our festive spirit won't be dampened and we still look forward to welcoming our members and guests over these dates, when the estate will be transformed into a wonderland of festive treats, gift inspiration and family fun. Find the scent of spiced mulled cyder wafting through the Courtyard, seasonal displays popping up in the Threshing Barn and Farm Shops to help tick off your lists, and chefs going all in on the flavours of the season: on festive menus and grocery range online. With the moral of this year’s Christmas story in mind, there’s never been a better time to share in The Newt magic.

Book A Table
At our working country estate, food is the edible thread that ties all our endeavours together. From our gardens and farm to our fields and orchards, everything we produce is rooted in the Somerset landscape. Our restaurants showcase fresh, seasonal fare, lovingly prepared by our talented chefs.
Stay With Us
At the heart of the estate, surrounded by gardens and farmland, is Hadspen. A traditional limestone house built in the 17th century and remodelled in Georgian times. Today we off-set its restrained beauty with playful design set across 23 bedrooms, The Botanical Rooms restaurant, drawing rooms and bar. Just beyond the cyder orchards, half a mile from Hadspen as the crow flies, is the Farmyard, the former dairy of the estate. Home to 17 rooms, a pool, bar, snug and all-day kitchen - grab a bike or book a buggy and pootle over to the estate gardens or spa at Hadspen. The Creamery
Return to the Golden Age of travel at The Creamery, our new dairy and station cafe serving hearty British food within a complex of restored and reimagined Edwardian buildings.
As we venture outside the bounds of The Newt in Somerset gardens for first time, we look forward to welcoming locals and travellers to our latest addition. We are a dog friendly eatery so please bring your well behaved best friend along.Workshops
